5 Best Restaurants in Kodiak

Olds River Inn Restaurant

32233 Pasagashuk Rd, Kodiak, Kodiak Island, AK 99615
Website

This upscale restaurant is a perfect place for date night.  The menu embraces Kodiak’s seafood industry, with items such as bacon-wrapped halibut, seafood alfredo, or blackened salmon, but you’ll also find an amazing filet mignon available with a rich and unique cream sauce.  Definitely remember to save room for dessert – the decadent molten lava cake is worth the brief cooking time.

Java Flats

11206 W Rezanof Dr, Kodiak, AK 99615
Website

Java Flats is an adorable cafe that offers some deliciously simple lunches.  The Countryside sandwich, with turkey, apples, and brie, is a favorite, and they also provide vegetarian and gluten-free options, so that all diets can be accommodated.  Everything is healthy without compromising the flavor.

Henry’s Great Alaskan Restaurant

512 W Marine Way, Kodiak, AK 99615
Website

A local favorite, Henry’s is a place you don’t want to miss.  It serves traditional sports bar fare, from buffalo wings to some very juicy burgers, but you’ll also see a few more unique options, like steak with brandy and mango chutney.  It’s a great place to get a feel for life in Alaska, and there are plenty of locals around to chat with.

Rendezvous Bar And Grill

11652 Chiniak Hwy, Kodiak, AK 99615
Website

With a pub feel, Rendezvous is a great place for a relaxed and satisfying meal.  The menu isn’t particularly extensive, but the dishes they offer are done very well.  The clam chowder is very popular, and the fish tacos might be the most popular dish in the area.  Definitely upgrade to the pasta salad side – it comes with locally caught smoked salmon.

This unassuming place offers some amazing dishes.  The Scallops Provencal highlights the marine fishing industry in the area, but another good choice is the Tijuana street fries, expertly melding American and Mexican cuisine.  Everything on the menu is perfectly executed.

Have a great time in Kodiak and enjoy some of the restaurants.
